Signal (“Signal,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website at prop.forum and related community features (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Service.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. This Policy does not apply to websites, applications, or services operated by third parties, even when they are linked from Signal.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

We may collect information you provide directly, including:

Account information: email address, username, display name, password-authentication information, and authentication provider details.
Google sign-in information: when you sign in with Google, we may receive your Google account identifier, email address, name, and profile image, depending on the permissions you grant.
Profile information: biography, location, website, avatar, banner image, and other information you choose to add.
Community activity: posts, comments, replies, votes, community memberships, reports, and other interactions with the Service.
Communications: messages you send to us, including support, privacy, moderation, and abuse reports.
Preferences and consent records: marketing-email preferences and records showing acceptance of our legal terms.

Passwords are handled by our authentication provider. Signal does not store or have access to your plaintext password.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information, such as:

IP address and approximate location derived from it;
browser type, device type, operating system, and language;
pages viewed, referring pages, timestamps, and interaction data;
authentication, security, error, and diagnostic logs; and
advertising events, such as whether an advertisement was displayed or clicked.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar browser storage that are necessary to keep you signed in, protect accounts, maintain security, and remember preferences such as appearance settings. We currently do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across unrelated websites.

2. Public information and user content

Signal is a public community service. Your username, display name, avatar, banner, biography, location, website, posts, comments, and other profile information may be visible to anyone, including people who are not signed in. Search engines and third parties may copy, index, or redistribute public content.

Vote totals and other aggregate engagement information may be public. Individual voting records are used to operate the Service and are not intended to be displayed publicly with your identity.

3. How we use information

We may use information to:

create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
provide posts, comments, voting, profiles, and communities;
store and display uploaded images and other user content;
send confirmation, security, account, and service emails;
send product news or promotional emails when you separately opt in;
personalize and improve the Service;
measure site, community, and advertising performance;
moderate content and enforce our rules and Terms of Service;
detect, investigate, and prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
respond to support requests and communicate with you; and
comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and users.

4. How we disclose information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

Service providers

We use third-party providers to operate the Service. They may process information on our behalf according to their agreements with us and their own privacy notices:

Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and file storage.
Vercel — website hosting, delivery, security, and analytics.
Resend — transactional and optional marketing email delivery.
Google — Google OAuth sign-in when you choose that option.

Public activity

Information you intentionally post publicly is disclosed to other users and visitors as described above.

Advertisers

We may provide advertisers with aggregated campaign measurements, such as impression and click totals. We do not provide advertisers with your email address or account credentials merely because you viewed or clicked an advertisement. An advertiser may collect information directly from you after you visit its website or interact with it.

Legal, safety, and business reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce agreements, investigate abuse, protect the safety and rights of Signal or others, or support a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

5. Marketing communications

Marketing consent is optional and separate from accepting our Terms of Service. You may withdraw consent through your account settings or by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email. You may still receive transactional or security-related messages that are necessary to operate your account.

6. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the Service, maintain legitimate business records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected.

When an account is deleted, associated account data and content may be deleted from active systems. Limited copies may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, fraud-prevention records, or records we must keep for legal reasons.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection regarding your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.

You can exercise certain choices directly by:

editing your profile and communication preferences;
removing content you control where that feature is available;
signing out or clearing cookies through your browser; and
contacting us to request account or personal-data deletion.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, encrypted connections, authentication protections, and database authorization policies. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong, unique password and protect access to your account.

9. International data transfers

Signal and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service or applicable law changes. We will post the updated version at this page and revise the “Last updated” date. When required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
